In the mean time, here is a recipe that will be published in the next issue of 3rd Ward STL.
Lemon Pepper Garlic Crockpot Chicken
Ingredients:
1 Whole chicken
4 Tablespoons olive oil
½ Cup water
1 ½ Tablespoons minced garlic
1 Teaspoon onion powder
2 Teaspoons lemon pepper
1 Teaspoon salt
Rinse whole chicken inside and out with cold water, being sure to remove any giblet or neck parts that may have been package inside of the bird. If using a whole frozen chicken, be sure to thaw the bird completely in the refrigerator before cooking.
Place the chicken, breast-up, in a crockpot. Pour water into bottom of crockpot. Drizzle chicken with olive oil and add seasonings. Cook on low heat for 6 hours, or until internal temperature of the thickest part of the meat reads 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
